What are the advantages of the fingers and grippers for Xcelerate customers?

The grippers and fingers – together with the robot arm – are used to place the products in the machine. This is primarily achieved using two-point or three-point grippers. The product is then tightly gripped on two or three sides.

The product is then tightly gripped on two or three sides. It is also possible to have a double-sided or single-sided gripper configuration. With a double gripper, it is possible for Xcelerate to load and unload automatically while the robot arm stays in the machine. If the space in the machine is too small, the exchange takes place outside of the machine. This feature considerably speeds up the process as compared to a single-sided gripper and saves a huge amount of time.

Cellro uses Schunk grippers. Schunk is the leading brand in the market for gripper systems. The fingers are easy to change thanks to the quick-change-system. This allows you to adapt Xcelerate quickly and easily for the next product.

Xcelerate X10 is able to stock up to five different grippers. With Xcelerate X20, it is possible to have up to six grippers. With the robot being able to change grippers, you can automatically load products with different dimensions, whether they are cylinders or square objects or have a unique shape. With the help of the different gripper types, you can handle a large number of product types.

Modularity allows you to customise

The most important aspect of the fingers and grippers is that they can be adapted to your production process. Do you want to customize other fingers that will suit your product shapes? This is an option. As long as the movements of the robot (including inside of the machine) allow it, different fingers can be made.
